šŸ›’ Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Bourbon Smoked Pulled Pork Shoulder
  • 1/4 cup Bourbon Glaze
  • 2 large Sweet Potatoes
  • 1 large Onions
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 4 tbsp Butter

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³ Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat slow cooker to Low. Season pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika. Place pork in slow cooker.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together bourbon glaze, maple syrup, brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon butter. Pour glaze over pork.

  3. 3

Cook pork for 8-10 hours or until tender. Shred pork with two forks.

  4. 4

Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes or until caramelized.

  5. 5

Preheat oven to 400°F. Pierce sweet potatoes with a fork a few times. Place on a baking sheet and roast for 45-50 minutes or until tender.

  6. 6

Slice roasted sweet potatoes and place on a serving platter. Top with shredded pork, caramelized onions, and remaining bourbon glaze.

  7. 7

    Serve immediately and enjoy!

  8. 8

Tips: For a crispy crust on the sweet potatoes, try basting them with a little bit of olive oil before roasting.

  9. 9

To avoid overcooking the pork, make sure to check its tenderness every hour or so.

  10. 10

If you prefer a thicker glaze, simply simmer it on the stovetop for a few minutes until it reaches your desired consistency.

šŸ’” Pro Tips

To make the bourbon glaze thicker, cook it on stovetop for a few minutes on low heat. Avoid overcrowding the skillet when caramelizing onions.
